It was a cave, and a stone covered the entrance. 39Jesus said, \u201cRemove the stone.\u201d Martha, the sister of the dead man, said, \u201cLord, the smell will be awful! He\u2019s been dead four days.\u201d 40Jesus replied, \u201cDidn\u2019t I tell you that if you believe, you will see God\u2019s glory?\u201d 41So they removed the stone. Jesus looked up and said, \u201cFather, thank you for hearing me. 42I know you always hear me. I say this for the benefit of the crowd standing here so that they will believe that you sent me.\u201d 43Having said this, Jesus shouted with a loud voice, \u201cLazarus, come out!\u201d 44The dead man came out, his feet bound and his hands tied, and his face covered with a cloth. Jesus said to them, \u201cUntie him and let him go.\u201d 45Therefore, many of the Jews who came with Mary and saw what Jesus did believed in him. 46But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.
