The Lamb of God!\u201d 37The two disciples heard what he said, and they followed Jesus. 38When Jesus turned and saw them following, he asked, \u201cWhat are you looking for?\u201d They said, \u201cRabbi (which is translated Teacher), where are you staying?\u201d 39He replied, \u201cCome and see.\u201d So they went and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about four o\u2019clock in the afternoon. 40One of the two disciples who heard what John said and followed Jesus was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. 41He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, \u201cWe have found the Messiah\u201d (which is translated Christ ). 42He led him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, \u201cYou are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas\u201d (which is translated Peter). 43The next day Jesus wanted to go into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, \u201cFollow me.\u201d 44Philip was from Bethsaida, the hometown of Andrew and Peter. 45Philip found Nathanael and said to him, \u201cWe have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law and the Prophets: Jesus, Joseph\u2019s son, from Nazareth.\u201d 46Nathanael responded, \u201cCan anything from Nazareth be good?\u201d Philip said, \u201cCome and see.\u201d 47Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said about him, \u201cHere is a genuine Israelite in whom there is no deceit.\u201d 48Nathanael asked him, \u201cHow do you know me?\u201d Jesus answered, \u201cBefore Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.\u201d 49Nathanael replied, \u201cRabbi, you are God\u2019s Son. You are the king of Israel.\u201d 50Jesus answered, \u201cDo you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than these! 51I assure you that you will see heaven open and God\u2019s angels going up to heaven and down to earth on the Human One.\u201d Psalms 23:4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger because you are with me.
