They say this isn\u2019t the right time to rebuild my Temple, the Temple of God.\u201d 3-4Shortly after that, God said more and Haggai spoke it: \u201cHow is it that it\u2019s the \u2018right time\u2019 for you to live in your fine new homes while the Home, God\u2019s Temple, is in ruins?\u201d 5-6And then a little later, God-of-the-Angel-Armies spoke out again: \u201cTake a good, hard look at your life. Think it over. You have spent a lot of money, but you haven\u2019t much to show for it. You keep filling your plates, but you never get filled up. You keep drinking and drinking and drinking, but you\u2019re always thirsty. You put on layer after layer of clothes, but you can\u2019t get warm. And the people who work for you, what are they getting out of it? Not much\u2014 a leaky, rusted-out bucket, that\u2019s what.\u201d 7That\u2019s why God-of-the-Angel-Armies said: \u201cTake a good, hard look at your life. Think it over.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>* *<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>8-9a Then God said: \u201cHere\u2019s what I want you to do: Climb into the hills and cut some timber. Bring it down and rebuild the Temple. Do it just for me. Honor me. You\u2019ve had great ambitions for yourselves, but nothing has come of it. The little you have brought to my Temple I\u2019ve blown away\u2014there was nothing to it. 9b-11 \u201cAnd why?\u201d (This is a Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies, remember.) \u201cBecause while you\u2019ve run around, caught up with taking care of your own houses, my Home is in ruins. That\u2019s why. Because of your stinginess. And so I\u2019ve given you a dry summer and a meager crop. I\u2019ve matched your tight-fisted stinginess by decreeing a season of drought, drying up fields and hills, withering gardens and orchards, stunting vegetables and fruit. Nothing\u2014not man or woman, not animal or crop\u2014is going to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>* *<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>12Then the governor, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak, and all the people with them listened, really listened, to the voice of their God. When God sent the prophet Haggai to them, they paid attention to him. In listening to Haggai, they honored God. 13Then Haggai, God\u2019s messenger, preached God\u2019s Message to the people: \u201cI am with you!\u201d God\u2019s Word. 14-15This is how God got Zerubbabel, Joshua, and all the people moving\u2014got them working on the Temple of God-of-the-Angel-Armies. This happened on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of King Darius. Zephaniah <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ljl1NFuPrPU&amp;t=197s\">3:17<\/a> For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears.
